Donderdagavond verzamelden de 25 busclubs van de Supportersfederatie vzw Malinwa om zich uit te spreken over de ticketproblematiek die de tweede verplaatsing, met name de wedstrijd op Germinal Beerschot, met zich zou meebrengen. Oorzaak van de problemen zijn de beperkingen die vanuit Beerschot en de stad Antwerpen opgelegd worden aan de bezoekende clubs. De wedstrijd betreft een buscombi, er zijn slechts een goeie 650 kaarten beschikbaar en bovendien mogen er zich slechts 10 supportersbussen aanmelden op het Kiel.
“Er was in de aanloop naar deze vergadering reeds flink vergaderd tussen de diverse partijen. Zo werd eind vorige week een vergadering belegd op het Antwerpse stadhuis om de problematiek te bespreken” weet de zegdsman van de federatie te vertellen. Aanwezig op deze bijeenkomst waren de Federaties van beide clubs, een bestuursdelegatie van KV Mechelen en Germinal Beerschot en een delegatie van de politie en het stadsbestuur van Antwerpen. De vergadering werd voorgezeten door burgemeester Patrick Janssens.
“Ondanks het feit dat zowel Federatie Malinwa als KV Mechelen, bij monde van bestuurders Karel Keuleers en Yves Cloots, diverse supportersvriendelijke oplossingen probeerden te verdedigen, bracht deze vergadering hoegenaamd geen oplossing naar voren. De eerlijkheid gebied ons trouwens te vermelden dat de afvaardiging van KV Mechelen onverbloemd, de kaart van het belang van de Mechelse supporter trok” gaat de vertegenwoordiger van de federatie verder.
Daags voor de vergadering van de Supportersclubs was er een onderhoud tussen de Federatie en KV Mechelen. KV Mechelen gaf op deze meeting de garantie dat men, in tegenstelling tot begin mei, de beslissing van de supportersclubs zou steunen en dat men dus geen poging zou doen om een eventuele boycot te doorprikken. Anderzijds werd er afgesproken dat KV Mechelen bereid was om een inspanning te leveren om aan de eisen qua supportersvervoer te voldoen indien de clubs beslisten om geen boycot te organiseren. De conclusie van deze vergadering was, met andere woorden, uiterst positief.
Veel diende er eigenlijk niet gediscussieerd te worden op de bewuste vergadering van de busclubs. De omstandigheden waren immers nagenoeg gelijk aan de wedstrijd van enkele maanden geleden. De boycot kon bijgevolg niet afgewend worden en dus zullen de 25 busclubs van Malinwa, andermaal de verplaatsing naar Beerschot aan zich voorbij laten gaan.
“Tenslotte willen wij nogmaals benadrukken dat deze beslissing hoegenaamd niet ‘met plezier’ genomen werd. Elk aanwezig bestuurslid van de busclubs gaf aan dat zij, net als hun talrijke leden, dolgraag de wedstrijd op Beerschot willen bijwonen. Maar onder de huidige richtlijnen is het, zowel op organisatorisch als menselijk vlak, simpelweg onmogelijk een regeling uit te werken. De supporter met de pet en het voetbal in het algemeen is én blijft de grote verliezer. Een ronde tafel gesprek tussen de nationaal overkoepelende SfP (Supportersfederatie voor Profclubs) en de clubleiders dringt zich dan ook meer dan ooit op” besluit het Mechelse federatielid.
